All preordered packages and nucs for 2018 are now sold out. We do have a waiting list for bees. We have extra packages and nucs on each load to cover any that do not pass inspection. If the loads travel well or anyone is unable to pick up their packages, the extras will become available to those on the waiting list. We will also have some splits available from our own hives a little later in the season. To be put on the waiting list, please send an email with the subject "waiting list" to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include in the message what you are interested in (packages, nucs, starter hive), the best phone numbers to reach you, and your email address. If you have no preferences on whether they come in a package, nuc, or hive, you will have the best chance of getting bees. Example: If you say you want a nuc, we will not call you about packages or starter hives. When we have extra packaged bees, I will call the 1st person on the waiting list. If I can not reach anyone, I will have to go to the next person on the list because packages need to be picked up as soon as possible. I have a little more time to find homes for nucs and splits, so I will send an email, call, and give you time to call me back.
*Note - Please Read Before Ordering.
* We highly recommend beginners plan to take a beekeeping class and/or find a mentor before ordering bees. Let us know and we may be able to help you find a class or beekeeping club.
* When packages arrive you will have up to 3 days to pick them up, we cannot hold them any longer. The sooner they are installed the better. Purchasers assume responsibility for the bees once they leave our property. We ensure that the bees are in good health and fed until they are picked up. We will show you the live package queen before you leave. Once picked up the purchaser assumes all responsibility for their well being. If your queen dies after you have picked up your bees, please call us. As we have no control over what happens to the bees after they leave our hands, we can not guarantee the queen but we do try to have extra queens on hand and know of other potential resources for replacement queens.
* If you have questions about how to safely transport and install your bees, please ask. We want all our customers to be successful and will be happy to answer your questions.
We are taking orders for Russian and Carniolan 5 frame nucs to be available for pickup between mid-April and early May. These will be Missouri raised bees, so we won't know the delivery date until we see how spring progresses.
We are also taking orders for Italian 5 frame nucs that are, weather permitting, currently scheduled to arrive between April 15th and April 21st. The Italian Nucs will be from northern California.
Nucs will be $175. Each nuc will be inspected when it arrives to ensure it meets our quality standards. We schedule nuc pickups in the early morning or late evening so the nucs can be closed up when the foragers are all back at the hive and so the nucs can travel to their new home in the coolest part of the day. Orders are not confirmed until full payment is received. Bees are the only item that requires pre-payment. You will not get a refund if you fail to pick up your bees.
We have 3 lb. packages of Italian, Carniolan, and Russian bees available again this year. This year's 3-pound package price is $140. All 3 lb. packages come with mated queens.
The 1st shipment will have Italians and Carniolans and is scheduled for early April. The other shipments will arrive here between mid-April to early-May. The other shipments come with Carniolan or Russian queens. The number of 3-pound packages on these loads will be limited as we are increasing the number of nucs on these shipments.
All our bees will be from north of the 36th parallel, nothing from the southern states (southern bees are not well acclimated to our winters and have more risk of hive beetles and Africanization).
To place an order, please give us a call at (660) 214-0132. Orders are not confirmed until full payment is received. Bees are the only item that requires pre-payment. You will not get a refund if you fail to pick up your bees.
